Once the application is submitted, it will be processed by the Fire & Rescue office. This process includes a criminal background check and driving record investigation. After this in completed, usually in about 2-3 weeks, the application will be forwarded to CCRS, or the appropriate agency of interest. After receiving the application at CCRS, someone from the Membership Committee will contact the applicant to set up an interview in order to meet them, provide information, complete paperwork , and answer any initial concerns. After the initial meeting, the applicant will be brought before the general membership for an initial vote on probationary membership, thus begins the initial 6 month probationary period, where the applicant operates as a "3rd person." Applicants with previous EMS experience and current certifications, who are practicing locally, may be subject to a shortened probationary period. After this period, the applicant will be brought forth at a meeting for a vote on full membership.
